The Crown Inn

Hotel Description

The Crown Inn Review – A friendly welcome awaits you at The Crown Inn Gayton. With parts dating back to the 13th century this 16th century inn is now a small country pub offering free Wi-Fi 2 bars a separate restaurant and comfortable accommodation. In the winter time there is always a roaring log fire in the main bar making for a cosy spot on a cold day. Or sit in the snug lounge bar beside the wood burner toasting your toes after a hard day out! In the heart of the small charming village of Gayton the Crown Inn offers 4 comfortable and homely rooms furnished in a traditional cottage style. Every room has tea/coffee making facilities and a Freeview TV. There is a garage/ post office/village store where daily papers can be purchase there is also a village butchers shop which has an excellent deli section if you fancy a picnic on a day out at the beach. Rich in original character and traditional charm parts of the building are said to date back to between 1216 and 1262 when the building was constructed to house the stonemason and the workers who built the church opposite. There are low original wooden beams in a few places. Upstairs some of the doorways are quite low so for the tall be aware! The Crown Inn is dog friendly well-behaved dogs are welcome in the rooms and throughout the pub apart from in the restaurant. We do ask that our canine guests do not sleep on the beds muddy footprints can be a problem. br / br / Our restaurant serves traditional home cooked food. our beef is from the local farm Manor farm Grimston just 2 miles away and is hung for a minimum of 28 days giving a full rich flavour to the Native Breed Shorthorn beef. Its well worth a try. There is always plenty to do in the surrounding area with Sandringham Estate Holkham Estate and several National trust properties close by. Just come and enjoy the quite life that makes this part of Norfolk so special it may take a while to get here as we don t have motorways but its well worth it once you arrive.
