The Cricketers

Hotel Description

The Cricketers Review – Alma and Brian would like to invite you to spend some time at their contemporary home that has been lovingly refurbished as a luxury bed and breakfast. The Cricketers has a long history of hospitality and was built in 1880 on the edge of Windsor Royal Forest. Initially the property had five bedrooms and was a 19th century coaching inn selling Burton beers from Ind Coope. It also incorporated a butchery and in 1888 supplied meat to Osborne House Queen Victoria s residence on the Isle of Wight. In the 20th century the property was divided into private residential and a butchers shop. In 1988 Brian purchased the property and the former Butchers shop became the Hop Inn one of the finest independent off-licences in Britain stocking a large range of local real ales wines spirits and home brewing supplies. Enjoy a great night s sleep in one of our three individually designed and decorated en-suite bedrooms. Each room has a luxurious king size Vi-Spring bed with sumptuous 600 thread cotton linen solid wood furniture full size mirrors LED lighting dimmer switch Wi-fi USB sockets for charging suitable phones and tablets CD and iPod player fluffy robes slippers iron and ironing board powerful hairdryer and a generous hospitality tray. In the morning wake up with a refreshing power shower with complimentary toiletries. Enjoy a wholesome breakfast of home cooked honey roast ham award winning cheeses from our local cheese makers Village Maid at Riseley and Two Hoots at Barkham yogurts cereals homemade jams and multi-seed bread from Warings the Spencers Wood bakery. The Cricketers is conveniently located in the village of Spencers Wood next door to St.Michael s church. We are just one mile from junction 11 of the M4 and offer free parking. Bus stops are less than a minute away and around the corner behind the Farriers pub there is a recreation ground that was home to the local cricketers.
